Pump.fun: $741M Crypto Scandal Rocks Solana
The Solana-based memecoin launchpad, Pump.fun, is facing intense scrutiny after allegedly extracting approximately $741 million in fees from its users. Blockchain data reveals the platform has been systematically selling off its earnings since May 2024, raising concerns about its true intentions. While boasting over $66 billion in trading volume since its January 2024 launch and generating thousands of new tokens daily, the platform’s profitability is starkly contrasted by user losses. Reports indicate that only a tiny fraction of traders (293 out of 13.55 million) have profited over $1 million, with nearly all others failing to surpass $10,000 in gains.
