Bitcoin Holds Strong Despite Geopolitical Turmoil: LTHs Accumulate 880K BTC
Despite a recent market sell-off triggered by escalating tensions in the Middle East, Bitcoin has shown resilience, holding above the $104,000 mark. This price stability is particularly noteworthy given the widespread volatility impacting global markets, including equities and other crypto assets. However, uncertainty remains as investors question whether Bitcoin can maintain its current support levels or if further declines are imminent.
On-chain data offers a more optimistic perspective. CryptoQuant reports that Bitcoin long-term holders (LTHs) have accumulated a staggering 881,578 BTC over the past 30 days. This significant accumulation suggests strong conviction among seasoned investors, indicating that long-term demand remains robust despite short-term market fluctuations. This massive buying spree counteracts the immediate impact of the geopolitical events.
Technically, Bitcoin recently surged to $110,000, nearing its all-time high, before retracing to $104,000 following the Israel-Iran conflict. The $112,000 level remains a crucial resistance point; a decisive breakout would signal a new bullish phase. Currently, Bitcoin is consolidating below this resistance, with support holding around $103,600. The convergence of the 50, 100, and 200-period SMAs between $106,000 and $106,500 creates a short-term resistance cluster. A break above this could lead to a retest of $109,300. Conversely, failure to hold the $103,600 support could push the price back towards $100,000.
The combination of macroeconomic uncertainty and sustained long-term accumulation creates a pivotal moment. The next few days will be crucial in determining the market’s direction for the remainder of the quarter. The resilience of Bitcoin’s price, despite global tensions, and the substantial accumulation by LTHs suggest a potential for further growth.
