Bitcoin’s $882M Inflow Surge: Sui Outpaces Solana

CoinShares' latest report reveals a fourth consecutive week of significant crypto investment inflows, totaling $882 million globally. Bitcoin dominated, attracting $867 million, further boosted by US-listed Bitcoin ETFs exceeding $62.9 billion in net inflows since January 2024. This surpasses the previous high, highlighting institutional investor confidence. In contrast, Ethereum saw only $1.5 million in inflows. The report also underscores the rising prominence of alternative layer-1 protocols. Sui, for instance, attracted $11.7 million in inflows, surpassing Solana's year-to-date total and highlighting a potential shift in investor interest towards newer blockchain technologies. Regionally, the US led with $840 million in inflows, followed by Germany and Australia. Canada and Hong Kong saw minor outflows. This geographical divergence reflects varying investor sentiment, regulatory landscapes, and institutional product availability. The report suggests institutional investors are increasingly viewing digital assets as a hedge against fiat depreciation and economic uncertainty, a trend reinforced by state-level legislation and increased fiat liquidity. While Bitcoin maintains its dominance, the success of newer platforms like Sui points to a growing interest in alternative blockchain infrastructure, potentially leading to broader diversification in investment strategies.
